Vale Toby Manford
A true stalwart of the West Australian Bridge Club, Toby passed away several weeks ago. She last played at the club in 2020.
A top player and administrator, Toby ‘s name appears many times on both the BAWA and the WABC Honour boards adorning the Club’s walls. A BAWA Vice President for seven years, the WABC President in 1998 & 1999 and a WABC Life Member 2010.
Toby has won the WABC Women’s Pairs Championship; the Mixed Championship; the Open Pairs Championship; and the Open Teams Championship. She also won the BAWA Women’s Pairs; Mixed Teams and represented WA at the Australian National Championships.
“Outstanding, remarkable and impressive” are some of the accolades used by Club President, Alison Rigg when proposing Toby Manford and Sue Clemnts as Life Members of WABC.
