GENERAL INFORMATION

The club offers the most comprehensive in-house teaching programme of any bridge club in Australia.

With the arrival in 2019 of Peter Smith’s successor, Andy Hung, the courses have been streamlined to a 6 lesson format, to accommodate Andy’s tournament commitments (Andy is a member of the 2020 Australian Open Team). Andy will teach Standard American – see here for more information.

A selection of courses commences at the start of each new school term in the time slots listed below. The courses range from beginners to more advanced classes. For details of the latest term’s programme scroll further down the page. For bookings or enquiries please use the Contact Form below. For details of all courses offered see Course Descriptions.

Usual starting dates for each term are:

Term 1: First week of February
Term 2: End of April/early May
Term 3: Late July
Term 4: Mid October.

Different courses are rotated through these time-slots during the year, meaning that popular courses such as Beginners or Intermediate Bidding will usually come up in each of the 4 slots at some stage each year. Therefore if the latest programme doesn’t suit, there will usually be something more suitable in a subsequent term. Completing ‘Book 1’ (3 weeks) is usually a pre-requisite before doing ‘Book 2’, which is a follow-on; if in doubt please enquire.

Cost of most courses is $60 per 3 lessons (or you can pay for the full 6 lessons upfront if you wish), payable at the first lesson by cash, cheque, electronic transfer or card.
